A super-quick load time and intelligent data collection were just two new things our website rebuild included for Bill Skinner. The newly developed site marked a massive step-change for the business - online sales have overtaken in-store purchases to become the most profitable sales channel, rapidly increasing turnover and helping create a globally recognised brand.
Despite being a jewellery maker to the stars, collaborations with Vivienne Westwood, Vogue magazine appearances and even the odd Royal commission, Bill Skinner’s products simply weren’t selling online. A sharp and stylish rebrand saw no improvements so we stepped in to analyse the website to ascertain what the problems were. What we found was a good looking site hampered by limited content control, slow to load times, no mobile friendly views and zero reporting.
Using the new website design, we rebuilt it on our Ensemble ecommerce platform. This afforded faster responsive page loads, more control over the front end and a full dashboard that gives an ‘at-a-glance’ overview of the site. The marketing team were now able to fully focus on promoting the site and unique jewellery collections both on the site and through various social media platforms. Instagram being a particular focus with the onsite “Shop our insta-feed”
Brand awareness has also rocketed - with 30% of sales coming from outside the UK, so much so they have opened 3 stores in China. Bill Skinner has a web team dedicated to ecommerce, and we continue to help with digital design and development for this jewel of a client.
